The small relief map of the Cévennes shows the legend to the north-west and Rodez below it, Aubenas to the north-east so much of the Ardéche can also be seen, Saint-Gilles to the south-east and Castres to the south-west. Actually a well chosen excerpt, but something disturbs the map. Sometimes nothing is going on and then there is too much information. What the cause of it might be? Oh yes, the map shows the most sparsely populated part of France. There's just not much going on there and even in the Gorges du Tarn tourism is manageable - but that's exactly the charm of this area. Where else in France are so many vultures circling in the air?
